Slow Flow

9:30am - 10:45am Monday

Teacher: Christine Terry

Our Dora the Explorer practice!

Perfect for students who are looking to explore beyond the beginners programme, for those wanting to reacquaint themselves with their practices, and for those who have established a regular practise. A class for all fitness levels. A combination of vinyasa flow, hatha yoga, classes offer students the opportunity to explore poses via fascia exploration, particular alignment techniques and pranayama can help us to step away from automatic movement, and deepen into individual felt sense of a pose. Acceptance of how one is on the day, and working within the edge is paramount to leaving the mat having challenged oneself, but having honoured and respected oneself too.

Restorative Yoga

6:00pm - 7:15pm Monday

Teacher: Kristin Borchardt

Restorative Yoga is a slow paced and gentle practice, suitable for those wanting to experience the benefits of yoga in a slow approach, within a supported environment.  Poses are set up with different props, such as bolsters (or 2 pillows in a pillowcase works well,) blocks and blankets, which are used to help support the body to "release", rather than actively stretching.  This different approach makes this class suitable for anyone who has injury, is under pressure, who feels stressed, may be burnt out or fatigued or is just looking for some Zen goodness.

Beginners Vinyasa Yoga

5:15pm - 6:30pm Tuesday

Teacher: Christine Terry

The building block of yoga and poses is essential to ensure a safe and confidence experience to a yoga practise. Yoga is for everyone and this practise will be taught at a pace to slowly progress from week to week over a 11 week course. Poses will be modified to ensure the learning of alignment, while giving you the experience to explore opening the body to find flexibility, while also building into strength.

Vinyasa means breath connected to movement.  This introduction to yoga will allow you to explore your breath and offer you techniques to create healthier breathing patterns that support a more balanced connection to mind and body. Perfect for new students and for those who wish to reacquaint themselves with the basics. A class for all fitness levels.

General Yoga

  6:45pm - 8:15pm Tuesday

Teacher: Kristin Borchardt

This practice is suitable for those who have an embodied knowledge for the primary fundamentals of yoga, that have an awareness of themselves in poses to remain safe to progress into inversions, challenging asana and advanced pranayama practices.   This block course will teach you to progress into a more dynamic flow to develop strength, flexibility and balance for mind and body.  Students will be encouraged to work at their own pace while staying connected to breath for guidance.

Roll and Release

5:15pm - 6:15pm Thursday

Note: This is a 5 week block

Teacher: Kristin Borchardt

This hour class of Roll & Release, a method of deep-tissue, fascially focused self-massage that eases and eliminates tension, increases flexibility, and leaves your whole body feeling completely delicious. We explore the use of finding ‘the edge’ within your body and work with tools such as straps, elastic bands, foam rollers, tennis balls and shakti mats.

Led Ashtanga

6:30pm - 8:00pm Thursday

Teacher: Kristin Borchardt

Classes are designed to introduce those with a good foundation in the practices of yoga to move into the primary series of a led ashtanga practice. Each class will be taught as a progression through the series.  This class will not be suitable for absolute beginners to yoga.

The practice of yoga brings balance to the entire energy system, helps relieve stress, increases your flexibility, strengthens your physical body & leaves you feeling revitalised and peaceful.  As the practice is repeated each week this class would suit any student wanting to feel their yoga practice deepen and extend.

Yin

 9:30am - 10:45am Friday

Teacher: Kristin Borchardt

The term “yin yoga” comes from the Taoist tradition. Yang relates to movement, often repetitive movement, creating heat in the body. Yin is about finding stillness and cooling the body and the theory goes that we need both to come into balance to stay in optimum health & wellbeing.

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—five minutes or more per pose. In Yin poses we focus on stilling the body, to cultivate stillness in the mind, we take the focus to the connective tissues providing a deeper release.  The Yin style of yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body and the fascia that covers the body;  by doing so this helps to regulate the flow of energy within.  With practice, this exploration into our bodies can become meditative & deeply healing on all levels.  Yin yoga can complement an already active life or help those who feel distracted by mind chatter.

Classes are designed to balance the entire energy system, help relieve stress, increase your flexibility, strengthen your physical body & leave you feeling revitalised and peaceful.
