Meet Kristin

Kristin Borchardt is a certified, experienced & registered yoga teacher, who has been teaching in Mt Maunganui since 2010. Offering a range of classes and events which combine nourishing restorative practices from yoga nidra through to dynamic Vinyasa flow classes.

Kristin teaches from the heart and therefore supports her students from the heart. By doing so Kristin empowers others to meet themselves, find their inner-truths, move through obstacles, expand and grow. Her teaching style allows others to come to an understanding of their own abilities and strengths through their connection to their breath.

Kristin teaches from Natural Fit, 18 Tawa St, Mt Maunganui, New Zealand.

Time does tell.

“With over 20 years of diverse experience in exploring yoga practices and 12 years of teaching, I am qualified to draw from various practices and incorporate them into a rich and satisfying experience.”

Philosophy.

Her philosophy on yoga is this; “find and face the challenges on the mat, so that we may live our lives effortlessly”. The classes are both uplifting and approachable, as Kristin takes you beyond the physical aspects of yoga, and brings you into your own sacred space.

Through a variety of poses, and conscious sequencing, Kristin’s classes will build strength, flexibility, and balance through stability, as well as provide the space to discover the truth in transition, and the sense of lightness you’re looking for in your practice.

Meet Christine

Christine guides students through traditional yoga poses focusing on techniques or tools to support alignment while maintaining a connection with the breath.  She is very keen to provide modifications for yogis to explore options in poses to find their personal edge, and quietly build or layer into a practise.  She enjoys incorporating functional movement, focusing on fascia and other body systems, pranayama, or building a particular focus into traditional yoga shapes so students can develop their own connection to their body and mind on the mat. Being part of someone’s personal journey on the mat is incredibly rewarding, and such a privilege.

Having trained through New Zealand IYTA, Christine was mentored and started teaching at the community based Tauranga Yoga Centre in 2011.  She has continued there, teaching a wide range of students from beginners to those more experienced on the mat, and has enjoyed guiding students in the subtle but powerful practise of restorative yoga.  During this time she has attended many workshops with renowned teachers.

Christine is a beauty therapist, with a particular focus on skin nutritional health and wellbeing, and this marries with her love of yoga.  Both beauty therapy and yoga afford her a deep connection with people.

Stepping on to my mat reminds me to step off of my mat with a kind, open, loving heart and mind, acceptance of myself and others, and maintain a strong connection with my breath to navigate the day – that’s when the yoga starts.
